FOCUS: Liberati’s Italian Deli & Bakery

This feature appeared in the News-Herald Newspaper’s CurrenTV insert on February 11, 2004. Frank LIberati requested we run this for the FOCUS: Liberati story.

Almost two years ago, Frank and Nina Liberati’s dreams of sharing their love of Italian food, not to mention some of the family’s recipes, with the community came true when they opened Liberati’s Italian Deli and Bakery.

From homemade breads and pastries to ready-to-bake pizzas and lasagnas -- and all sorts of delights in between -- shoppers have stepped up to take home all sorts of goodies.

The full deli offers Italian and American meats and cheeses, as well as made-to-order sandwiches on Liberati’s homemade panini rolls.

It only gets better when it comes to desserts, as cannolis, Italian cookies, eclairs, cheesecakes and other delightful treats have flown off the shelves since the couple opened their doors.

Liberati’s catering service has steadily grown since opening day, and Frank and Nina are proud to offer cookie and dessert trays for weddings or funerals, as well as arrangements for any sort of gathering -- large or small.

And the family atmosphere extends beyond the ownership. Frank’s parents, Rose and Tullio, often are busy preparing sauces and lasagnas while Florence Coleman, Nina’s mother, can be found preparing pizelles and the store’s homemade meatballs.

Hungry this very minute? Liberati’s accepts orders by fax at (313) 928-4416 or phone for pickup.

FOCUSAllenPark sincerely thanks Frank and Nina for their support. Please visit their FOCUSAllenPark page.
